An arm lift, or brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure designed to correct sagging skin, which occurs primarily in women. It is a fairly common issue and perhaps the only area of skin laxity on the body that can be visible even through clothing, making it particularly bothersome for many women.
Application/Action
Brachioplasty is performed under local anesthesia with sedation. We use a technique that combines liposuction with the removal of excess skin through an incision made only in the armpit, which is very well hidden. Initially, pulsating liposuction removes most of the fat from the upper arm area, reducing volume and improving overall shape. This is followed by removal of the excess skin via an incision in the armpit. This technique produces excellent results for the majority of women experiencing arm sagging.
Return to everyday life
After the arm lift, the patient must wear a special compression garment (similar to sleeves) for one month. Additionally, she should avoid lifting heavy objects or making sudden, wide-range arm movements for about 15 days. Most everyday activities can be resumed as early as the next day.
